Cycle Commission of General Professional Practical Training Disciplines

Teaching Staff of the Cycle

The Cycle Commission of Practical and Professional Training “Drawing” and “Sculpture” is an educational and methodological unit that conducts academic, methodological, and educational work in related disciplines. The commission aims to ensure an appropriate level of student training within the educational programs “Fine Arts,” “Decorative and Applied Arts,” “Environmental Design,” and “Graphic Design.”

The commission provides systematic development of students’ professional competencies, critical and analytical thinking, and creates conditions for creative and research activities. Teaching the disciplines “Drawing” and “Sculpture” promotes the acquisition of theoretical and practical skills, artistic and figurative language, and expressive means. It helps students logically justify the construction of form, understand the placement of objects on a plane and in space, and accurately convey material qualities such as volume, color, and texture.

The main objectives of teaching drawing and sculpture as academic disciplines are to familiarize students with the visual arts fundamentals, which include theoretical and practical mastery of the laws and means of realistic representation, development of graphic and sculptural skills, knowledge of various techniques and methods, and the ability to implement artistic ideas in volumetric-plastic form. As a result, students learn to use these tools freely for expressing their artistic ideas in both academic and personal creative work. The subjects also cover material studies, techniques, composition theory, art history, and the practical skills necessary for creating graphic and sculptural works in different genres.
The ultimate goal is to teach students to draw from life and depict form truthfully within real environments using line and light-and-shade modeling.

The teaching staff of the Cycle Commission are highly qualified professionals who effectively organize the educational process, apply innovative teaching methodologies, and integrate modern learning technologies.
