Being an integral part of fine arts, drawing serves as an important component in the quality training of specialists across all disciplines at the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts.
The Department of Drawing was established in 2016.
The teaching staff of the department consists of renowned artists and scholars: Honored Artist of Ukraine, Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Anton Kovach (Head of the Department), Honored Worker of Culture, Associate Professor Mykhailo Syrokhman, Candidate of Art Studies, Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Ihor Lutsenko, Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Mykhailo Khodanych, and others.
The department’s academic staff provides instruction in courses such as Drawing, Specialized Drawing, Sketching, Figure Studio, Short-term Studies, and others.
An essential part of mastering drawing includes plein-air practices and creative exhibitions (both group and individual) by faculty and students at the regional, national, and international levels. Systematic drawing masterclasses conducted by the instructors have become a tradition, ensuring the effectiveness of academic drawing as a key component in the training of fine arts specialists.
