Department of Modern Information Technologies and Web Design

ACADEMIC AND TEACHING STAFF OF THE DEPARTMENT

The development of the art industry in Ukraine imposes higher demands on the new generation of specialists in artistic fields. Today, for success in the art sphere, it is not enough for an artist to master their craft perfectly. Equally in demand are skills in advanced information technologies and web design, economic literacy, marketing thinking, understanding consumer needs, strategic behavior, high communication skills, and the ability to manage all business processes. A successful artist today is effectively a media-presented brand, a competent marketer, manager, and entrepreneur.

The Department of Modern Information Technologies and Web Design was established in 2014 within the Faculty of Design and Decorative-Applied Arts of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts in response to the contemporary challenges of the art market.

Since April 2018, the department has been headed by Nadiia Ponomarenko, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Associate Professor, and multiple laureate of the Bokshay & Erdeli Prize.

The academic staff of the department provides student training according to a curriculum that includes a comprehensive cycle of theoretical and practical disciplines. Among them are: “Fundamentals of Computer Graphics,” “Computer Graphics,” “Fundamentals of Scientific Research,” “Art Management,” “Video Editing and Presentation,” “3D Modeling and Project Visualization,” “CAD Design,” “Fundamentals of Media Design,” “Game Design,” “Animation,” “Illustration,” “Startup Project Management,” “Branding,” “Public Relations,” and others.

The department’s academic staff actively conducts research on the topic: “Conceptual Foundations for the Development of Information Technologies and Visual Design Communications at the Regional Level.” They regularly organize master classes, open lectures, and discussions on various current issues in art, art management, and branding; support the artistic association of young Ukrainian artists “Focus Group”; serve as jury members in the All-Ukrainian Competition for the Defense of Student Scientific Works of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; and participate in preparing students for various presentation events, including the national exhibition-competition Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of.
